Brothers and Sisters,

In New Hampshire, Local 4 members know what freedom means — and we know when it’s under attack. Right now in the Granite State, lawmakers are being influenced by corporations advocating for so-called “Right to Work” laws.

“Right to Work” isn’t just bad for union members — it’s bad for all workers. In states where “Right to Work” laws have already been enacted, median wages are about $10,000 lower. Additionally, there is no real evidence that “Right to Work” provides more jobs or boosts the economy.

These laws will inhibit our right to bargain in our best interest with our employers to secure livable wages and benefits. As we see the light emerge out of the dark tunnel of the COVID-19 pandemic, we need steady and reliable jobs and stable wages so we can ensure our families can get back on their feet. Enacting “Right to Work” legislation will prevent that.

In New Hampshire, we have a chance to start fixing things — if we come together and tell state legislators to vote NO.
