Recognizing Women in Construction Week

Brothers and Sisters,

This week, we celebrate Women in Construction Week. Operating Engineers Local 4’s commitment to securing equal opportunities for all is carried out by our hardworking, highly-skilled female members every day.

We also know that the future for women in the union building trades is bright. Each year, our Local welcomes more and more qualified female apprentices and journey members into our ranks. In fact, women made up 21% of our apprentices last year. Most importantly, we are committed to equal pay for equal work. Under our negotiated Project Labor Agreements (PLAs), we proudly ensure that all workers, regardless of their gender, are paid at the same rates.
