Brothers and Sisters,
Today we remember the brave service members who sacrificed their lives to protect this great nation. The courageous men and women who perished as members of the U.S. Armed Forces deserve our recognition, and we proudly honor them this Memorial Day.
Since its inception, Memorial Day has been a day of reflection. Many of us spend the holiday with our friends and family, reminding each other of the sacrifices of those who have defended this nation. From decorating military headstones with American flags and flowers, to joining together in gatherings with our loved ones, this day has become a beautiful tradition.
As we gather together today, let us join in a moment of reflection and remembrance. Let us give thanks to the men and women who laid down their lives for us. Most importantly, let us honor their memories by working hard each and every day to maintain the freedoms of this nation through peace, justice, and opportunities.
